Methane yield and emission intensity remained unchanged regardless of MP supplementation. Following this study, it was concluded that there was no difference in feed conversion, nitrogen use, methane production (amount and intensity), and urine nitrogen loss between Ayrshire and Holstein cows. From 2005 onward, a mandatory L. Hardjo control program (LHCP) has been implemented for Dutch dairy cattle. Dairy farms, almost all of them, participate actively and have an L. Hardjo-free status confirmed. An uptick in outbreak occurrences was apparent in both 2020 and 2021, as compared to the previous years’ data. In the Netherlands, the national LHCP's impact was assessed during the 2017-2021 period within this research effort. Instances of new infections in *L. Hardjo*-free herds, located within the LHCP, were characterized, and the associated factors potentially contributing to their introduction were investigated. A steady increase was noted in the percentage of dairy herds maintaining L. Hardjo-free status who acquired cattle from herds lacking this status, and in the corresponding rise of purchased cattle over the years. A cluster analysis of infections in different herds between 2017 and 2021 showed a total of 144 suspected infection events in 120 dairy herds. New infections were identified in 26 herds (2% of the total), including cases of within-herd transmission across these 26 samples. Given the lack of infection clusters, there was no local transmission of infections between the dairy herds. Cattle introduced from herds not free of L. hardjo infection were apparently responsible for all L. hardjo infections observed in participating LHCP herds. In conclusion, the national LHCP displays significant effectiveness in the prevention and management of infections within dairy cattle herds.

Fatal musculoskeletal injuries in Thoroughbred racehorses in Hong Kong and the US are most often a consequence of proximal sesamoid bone (PSB) fractures. To identify diagnostic procedures that can help locate racehorses with a higher chance of fractures, investigations are ongoing; nevertheless, the features related to PSB fracture risk are not fully understood. This study's aims included (1) exploring the density and mineral content of the third metacarpal (MC3) and the proximal segment of bone (PSB) through dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), computed tomography (CT), Raman spectroscopy, and ash analysis, and (2) investigating PSB quality and the presence of metacarpophalangeal joint (MCPJ) pathologies using Raman spectroscopy and computed tomography (CT). Thoroughbred racehorse cadavers (n=29) yielded forelimbs, from which 14 exhibited PSB fractures and 15 served as controls. These forelimbs were subjected to DXA and CT imaging, and the corresponding PSBs underwent Raman spectroscopy and ash fraction analysis. Bone mineral density (BMD) measurements in the MC3 condyles and PSBs of horses revealed a direct correlation with the number of high-speed furlongs run. A notable increase in MCPJ pathology, including palmar osteochondral disease (POD), MC3 condylar sclerosis, and MC3 subchondral lysis, was present in horses with a higher number of high-speed furlongs. Fracture and control groups displayed identical BMD and Raman spectral characteristics; however, Raman spectroscopy combined with ash fraction assessment unraveled regional variations in PSB bone mineral density and tissue composition. MC3 and PSB bone mineral density, among other parameters, demonstrated a significant correlation with the total number of high-speed furlongs.

Allowing flexibility between online and in-person learning delivery methods. Rather than lecturing, the ILLF furnishes students with specific literary materials and a series of structured questions. As the key didactic element, this literature questionnaire dictates the flow of knowledge transfer, the course structure, and the examination format. This paper details the conclusion of the redesign initiative, highlighting the procedures followed in its implementation. Data from 65 student evaluations, systematically gathered, are analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively to gauge the overall quality of the format from a student's perspective. By integrating the accumulated results with the educators' viewpoints, a deliberation takes place concerning whether the ILLF satisfied the stipulated criteria.
